WHAT IS MAILAID?
MailAid is a free dialup service. We provide you with local call access to V90 modem data connections (roughly 56K speed & the internet standard for modem dialup).
MailAid assumes you have a dialup modem (V.90 or earlier) connected to a telephone.
When you sign up with MailAid & choose a username & password, you are asked to download a very small file which you first save (usually to your desktop) & then run by double-clicking on the file.
This sets up a new dialup networking connection for you, all ready to go. When you then connect & get your first mail, the first email will contain your dialup settings - keep this safe!
NOTE: Your existing dialup settings will NOT be disturbed. MailAid will make itself the default connection - you can change this at any time.
LOST DIALUP SETTINGS
If you lose or corrupt your MailAid settings - just go back to the SignUp page but instead of making a new account - click on "Existing User"
Enter your existing username & password & you will be able to download the configuration file again. Do this & then double-click/run it again - this will resetup your MailAid services.
EMAIL SERVICES
You are provided with a pop3 email account, in the form - username@mailaid.co.uk.
NOTE: If you are using MailAid together with a domain name that we also host - simply set your email forwarding to username@mailaid.co.uk. You can do this through our Service Centre.
WEB SERVICES
We provide you with 5MB fast web space, accessed in the form www.username.mailaid.co.uk.
To upload your web site you need to use an FTP program. For Help with FTP & download links for free trial ftp programs click here.
